The Movie Blog reports that Lebanon is the only Arab nation to allow screenings of Sandler’s last film, “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.”

According to Variety, the film will “likely” be banned because Arab officials claim the film makes fun of religion. I haven’t seen the film and can’t judge if it tries to make jokes about religion, but I can say those jokes probably aren’t very funny.

Lebanon has been more socially liberal than most Arab nations. They recently got a chance to watch “Sex and the City” because Lebanon may be open minded, but they are still working on taste.
