Ratner is trying desperately to do a movie based on the video game “Guitar Hero”, according to the video game blog Kotaku.

Awhile back, he expressed an interest in doing a remake of the video game and now he’s given conformation to “Entertainment Weekly” that he’s actually tried to pitch it. There’s a fine line between tenacity and stupidity and Ratner just took a huge dump on it.

So did his treatment get the green light? Well, you should know since the humiliating laughter of studio executives could be heard clear across the span of the globe. It’s such a bad idea that even Uwe Boll won’t put his greasy mitts on it.

Ratner said the reason he hasn’t gotten permission to do it is because “it’s such a success, it’s like now there’s no reason to make a movie about it.” For once, the movie industry gets it. There is no reason to suck every buck out of something just because it’s success. That’s the video game industry’s job.

That’s so crazy that it just might work.

Moviesonline.ca reports that a “Duke Nukem” movie is officially in the works.

It’s being worked on by the same guy who directed the “Max Payne” movie, another video game remake. He’s become such an expert on directing video game movies that he also has plans to make “Pac-Man: The Movie,” “Tetris: The Movie” and “Pong: The Movie” starring Sam Elliott as the Left Paddle.

Of course, Duke Nukem is famous for making it big with one video and promising a sequel that has taken more than 10 years in development just to make two trailers. Let’s hope this film suffers the same fate.

The game borrows a lot of lines and style from kick-ass action movies, so remaking a game that’s remaking a bunch of other movies could causes audiences’ heads to explode. I’m just kidding. This film won’t have an audience.

If you enjoyed the last four “Saw” movies, then you might be familiar with this gruesome image of a guy getting his head julienned. If you didn’t like the last four “Saw” movies, you might be familiar with this gruesome image because it’s the way your entire head felt when you had to sit through any of them.

The Movie Blog has the skinny on the fifth “Saw” film.

Specifically, they snagged a copy of the new poster…

Where have I seen this poster before? Oh right, the last four “Saw” films. They each had some kind of horrible, grotesque human mutilation to remind audiences that the film will definitely be short on plot and long on flying blood and other bodily humors.

The only audience for these films are the blood-thirsty horror fiends who dig films with torture and innocent deaths, which there isn’t anything wrong with as long as the films they are watching aren’t home videos or terrorist cell training videos.

But the more films they make, the more extreme they have to be to make them stand out. So by the time “Saw XIIII” rolls around, the poster will just be a giant pile of bloody soaked bodies in a cereal bowl with a spoon sticking out of it and the tagline, “Two scoops…of pain.” If that sounds like a lame joke, just imagine the “Saw” screenwriter who’s jotting a note down in his idea book.

They have a pretty solid track record of being really bad and yet they keep making them. It’s as if the studios don’t even care if they are good or…oh wow, I’ve just reached total enlightenment!

Dark Horizons reports that the creators of the “Doom” video game want a sequel and they’ll shoot you in the face with a big f#&$ing gun.

iD Software, the company that makes the game, told Shack News that they want to do another movie because they’ve learned some important lessons from making the first one, the chief one being don’t base your movie off of a video game or it’s sure to suck.

If the film got the greenlight, Universal would get the first crack at ruining it since they own the rights to it. “Last rites” is probably a more accurate description.

Todd Hollenshead, id CEO, said he wouldn’t say what the new movie would be about since he wants to build the buzz for it. Yeah, you wouldn’t something useless like “story” and “plot” getting in the way of your movie.
