It used to be toys got developed, assembled and released. Then they became popular and got their own cartoons so kids could buy the whole line of them and play along with them as they sat drooling and saucer eyed in front of the screen. Then the TV show became a movie making it the first time some of the little kiddies would leave the house during daylight hours. Well, not anymore.

According to ComingSoon, a movie based on the Robosapien is coming to the big screen.

Robosapiens are those robotic, remote controlled toys you see at Sharper Image, the store for the man who has everything and needs nothing except quite possibly a girlfriend.

The movie ersion, “Robosapien: Rebooted,” is about a young boy who befriends the popular toy who is on the run from his corporate masters.

Filming has already begun in New Orleans making it the biggest disaster to hit the city since Hurricane Katrina.
