‘Prom Night’ Slashes Competition, Audience’s Eyes

America, you made “Prom Night” the number one movie over the weekend. America really needs to get out more.

According to Variety, the cheesier horror remake of a cheesy horror movie took in $22.7 million over the weekend.

Experts predicted the movie would rake in a lot of money this weekend because of soft competition, the coming summer movie run and the fact that it sucked really hard.

Hey, when you’re dealing with American movie audiences, you aren’t exactly dealing with art house movie buffs. If you can get them in the seats and they aren’t drooling, that’s a good weekend.

The film nearly doubled “Street Kings” take home pay. So maybe there’s hope for us yet.
