The name Rob Schneider can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. According to Variety, Schneider has been cast in a new independent film called “Wild Cherry.”

And before you ask, no, it does not involve Rob Schneider waking up one morning to discover that he’s turned into a giant wild cherry.

This time, he plays the father of a teenage daughter who’s decide to lose her virginity to her jock boyfriend only to discover the boyfriend wants to just put her in the win column of her bed post. And no he doesn’t wake up to discover he’s turned into the jock boyfriend either.

Given Schneider’s sketchy past and the fact this film sounds like one of another million number of “Juno” ripoffs, who knows? Maybe this could be the film that turns Schneider from a hammy, overpaid clown to a serious actor. Then he’ll just make another schlocky comedy about how he wakes up one morning to discover he’s turned into a serious actor.
