‘Sex’ Number One at Box Office Because Guys Everywhere are Whipped
If you saw the “Sex and the City” movie this past weekend and didn’t get laid, I’d think about calling a lawyer or if you didn’t bring a date with you, a psychiatrist because you have some issues that need to be worked out.
Not surprisingly, the “Sex and the City” movie hit the number one spot at the box office taking in just over $55 million during its opening weekend, according to the LA Times.
The movie racked up more money in an opening weekend for a romantic comedy than its predecessor “Hitch,” the last time the men of the world cried when their girlfriends asked them if they would take them to the movies.
Also no surprise, the LA Times reports the opening crowd was 85 percent female, 14 percent male and 1 percent of confused males who thought they were going to see a porno movie.
The movie, of course, knocked the new “Indiana Jones” epic off of the top spot because the previous weekend, which makes sense since this weekend all of those boyfriends had to pay back their girlfriends for going to see “Indiana Jones” with them.
