Superbad Filmmakers to Make Superbad Film
After getting tricked the other day about an upcoming spoof movie, we’re a little reluctant to post this latest news because even though the other film “Art House Movie” was a total fake, this one made me mad all over again. Dammit, I just patched up that hole in the wall too.
According to MovieHole, the makers of “Date Movie,” “Epic Movie” and “Bad Movie” will do a spoof of coming-of-age comedies like “Superbad” and “Juno.”
Have you noticed that even though the people who have been making these movies keep making them, there isn’t a name publicized with them? Everyone knows Jason Reitman directed “Juno” and Steven Spielberg directed the first “Jaws.” No one knows the names behind the “Movie” movies, until now. It’s Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (yes, Seltzer is his REAL name making it the most appropriate name for a director and the type of humor featured in his films since Michael Byrne who after directing “Battlefield Earth” won the title of the last name that most accurately describes what you should do to his films).
It’s called “Goody Two Shoes” and aims to spoof movies about kids who go on a “life changing adventure,” but it doesn’t plan on them being funny.
This means “Superbad” and “Juno” are prime targets but since these movies are pretty unfunny, just about any movie that grosses more than $500,000 will be fair game. Filming will begin in Louisiana, which is a smart move since their marketing team can study the level of education the audience this film will attract while they are there.
